Gill, Charles Knowles’ niece, has asked me to let other Castle club members know, of the death of her father Bob last Friday 24th January. He had become very frail and had fallen after Christmas resulting in a fractured hip.
Gill and Sally (Bob’s daughter-in-law) had been actively supporting and regularly visiting Charles while he still lived in Sheffield (you may have met them both at Charles’ 90th birthday at the Grouse in 2023) and then were instrumental in helping him to sell his flat (and then later his house) allowing him to move closer to both of them, and join his older brother Bob in the care home in Keighley just before Christmas in late December 2023.
So if planning to visit Charles, Gill wanted any visitors to be aware of Bob’s recent death.
