The walk began with 8 people but at Cutthroat Bridge one headed directly onto Derwent Edge with a plan to meet the rest of us there for lunch. So 7 walked past Moscar House then followed boundary stones along Strines Edge. The normally boggy Raddlepit Rushes were surprisingly dry so no wet boots after all. We were surrounded by a remarkably fine show of cotton grass as we continued crossing the moorland to reach Derwent Edge. Now once more a group of 8, we enjoyed extensive views as we followed the edge south to near Whinstone Lee, then east back to our starting point. A very pleasant circuit of about 7 miles. Thanks to all who could join in.
