The heavy rain and strong winds forecast for early afternoon failed to deter 10 members, so we duly set off on wet, muddy paths across the Mayfield valley then up the Porter valley. Because of the weather we made the revolutionary decision to abandon normal practice and had just one coffee/lunch stop, taken in the relative shelter of trees before heading up to the exposed Ox Stones trig point. By doing this and by omitting the loop over Rudd Hill, we had a pleasant and largely dry (rainwise) walk until the last 15minutes or so. The amended walk was about 6mls. Thanks for your company to all who were able to join in.
