The rare sunshine seemed to attract many people to this outing despite icy temperatures. From Redmires 21 of us walked north to the conduit which was followed to near the Moscar end of Stanage, the latter part of the path being new to many. Two retreated after the coffee stop for a different circuit, whilst the rest continued to a lunch spot in slight shelter amongst the boulders under Marble Wall. Having enjoyed fine views of Derwent Edge, Bleaklow and Kinder areas, we returned via High Neb, across Hallam Moor past Oaking Clough plantation and the quarry just north of the car park. The usual boggy areas were helpfully firmly iced over. As far as I know only two people managed to dip legs into icy pools and both claimed gaiters kept them dry. Thanks for the company of so many. Apparently 7.5 miles.
