Open Climbing Meet (New Members Weekend) 17 and 19 April 2015

Thanks to all who attended the two events this weekend – Awesome Walls on Friday night and Birchen Edge today (Sunday).
The weather was better than forecast leading to a good turnout today of 22, which included prospective new members and a couple of former members. A wide range of routes were climbed with everyone enjoying the good climbing conditions. We were able to ‘mix and match’ so most people climbed with a range of partners. The prospective members were able to practice new techniques to them including hand jambing, friction moves and belaying using two ropes.They also saw us placing gear and could practice reteiving it. A great sociable day! Awesome Walls provided us with another good evenings climbing and the opportunity to meet the prospective members who came out today. Thanks to those came on Friday but who could not make it today.

Its the same again next weekend!!
Awesome Walls from 6pm on Friday 24 and Stanage Popular End from 10.30am on Sunday 26th April.
