Northumberland Meet
Hi everyoneI know it may be a tad early but July will soon be upon us. The weekend of the 25th, 26th and 27th July the first away meet I’ve led and it will be in Northumberland.
After talking to people who know far more about these things than I do, I’ve decided to go to Crag Lough, camping at the Winshields Farm Campsite. The cost is £9 per person per night whether you are in a tent or camper van but I’m afraid there are no ‘hook up’ facilities. The bunkhouse is £12 per night and there is also a charge of 50p per night for cars. Website below:

The crag is apparently within walking distance one way at Once Brewed and the pub Twice Brewed is within walking distance the other way so that’s all weather eventualities covered as far as I can see!
Crag Lough is described as “An austere crag with a long climbing history – the most impressive cliff in Northumberland some would argue. The well-preserved remains of the Roman Wall and the superb views northwards add to the ambience of the place. There is a lot of good climbing here, much of it in the lower grades, often up strong natural lines.”For the walkers, there are Roman ruins/ forts near the farm and Hadrain’s Wall is within the boundaries. You can find lots of walks of varying lengths at:

At this meet there will also be an exciting opportunity to be part of the support team to help me fold my tent up………….please say your coming to Northumberland Vanda!!!
I have provisionally booked for the Sunday night too as I, and possibly one or two others, will stay an extra night. So if anyone interested in some or all of that please get in touch. Thanks
