Message Board Not Working Properly

As pointed out recently by Russ Clare, the Message Board has
not been working properly (since 26 April) due to a server
problem which may be a legacy from the recent server outage.

As far as I can tell, if you try to post a message in the
usual way, you get an Internal Server Error, the message
does not get put on the message board and no email
notification is sent out that a message has been posted.

HOWEVER, the message has been received by the website and it
is listed in “From the Message Board” at the bottom of the
Home Page and if you click that you will be able to read the
message. If you reply to the message, again you will get the
server error but an email notification will be sent (which
when clicked give a server error page). The reply will have
been attached to the original message and can be read from
the link at the bottom of the home page.

Replying to a message which is already on the Message Board
should work correctly.
