Hi All,
I am planning to repeat a cycle ride I did at Christmas with Our Hugh & Mary.
Its 44 miles with just shy of 2000ft of ascent . its about two thirds off road and can be done
on mountain or sturdy touring bike.
Leaving my house at Tinsley at 10.00am sharp. we head for Thorpe Hesley then follow the A616 to Tankersley off road.
We then head for Elsecar where a café stop could be made, bit to early for official lunch. Then we head towards RSPB Old Moor
before swinging North West towards Darfield then Worsborough. Crossing the M1 for the fourth time we end up in Oxspring.
We then Start our Southerly journey back home passing through Wharncliffe (up hill stage) The last section off road from Grenoside woods car park I have not done because we ran out of daylight.
A very quick return can be made by road via Ecclesfield (big down hill stage).
On the previous occasion it felt like a big day.
Hope you can all make it. Please arrive at mine in time for a 10.00 start.
