Hen Cloud 1st September.
Some great routes – some of the longest on grit. Recommended: the arête HVD 4a; K2, s 4a, 4b; Modern, 4b; Ancient, 4a; Central climb 4c, 4b, 4a; Hedghog Crack, 4b; Great Chimney, 4a; Bachelors climb 4c; Rib chimney, 4b.
Parking is very limited. Lift share to reduce the number of vehicles. There are a few marked bays to park in, but you won’t get in them at 10.30. Ticket wardens will get you if you park on the verges. The BMC June newsletter reports the tea room in Upper Hulme, which you pass on the way to the crag, has opened a field for parking in for small a fee. So that’s probably best.
If its damp, good walks include Roach End, Gradbach Woods, Luds Church and the River Dane.
Unfortunately I can’t be there. If anybody else can co-ordinate on the day, let people know on the message board.
