The Fell and Rock Club (FRCC) have made some of their Lake District climbing guides available for free download from https://www.frcc.co.uk/mini-guide-downloads/ . There are currently 42 crag downloads of which 12 downloads are for new crags in the Duddon Valley, and may thus be of interest to those planning to attend the CMC’s Duddon Valley meet on June 25/26. The entirety of the most recent edition of the Dow Crag guide (1994, and currently out of print – a new edition is in preparation) is also available – Dow Crag can fairly easily be accessed from the Duddon Valley as well.
The FRCC has now got all the routes in the Lakes on a routes database and this being kept up to date with new route developments. From this they are producing pdf downloads of newly developed crags and also updates for crags which have seen major developments. This information is FREE to the climbing community and it would be good to let climbers know about this so please forward details of this onto climbing friends and climbing clubs etc accordingly.
