By Saturday morning ten of us had met at the campsite – a beautiful and windy spot. Having taken down some tents to ensure their survival, put one up and down again, and retrieved one which was already down, we all set off along the Dales Way. A delightful riverside path led to Grassington village square and tasty lunchtime options. The party split – a longer and a ‘Thursday’ group – both ending up returning by the enchanting Trollers Gill. Most evening meals were provided by the pub in Aptrick. More wind on Sunday led most of us to climb in the shelter of Brimham – Lovers Leap and Cracked Buttress areas. Others went cycling or sought a third breakfast with local friends. A good spot to return to for the higher crags of Rylstone, Rolling Gate and Crookrise in fairer weather.
