In advance of the AGM I am forwarding the club accounts for 2023 which the committee will be asking the membership to approve. Also attached is the audit certificate for 2023.
The committee will also be requesting approval for an increase in the annual subscription due to the increase in the BMC affiliation fee. This statement by Kathy, our treasurer gives more details:
“At the AGM the committee will propose the new subs for the year 2025. We are proposing to increase the subs from £35 to £40.
This is due to the BMC club affiliation fee going up from £23.90 to £29.33 per person, an increase of £5.43.
Proposals for the subs for new members joining later in the year are:
Subs for those joining from 1st July 2025 will increase from £25 to £30.
Subs for those joining from 1st November 2025 will pay £15
The club has a healthy balance so I feel we can increase subs by a round number of £5 and absorb the 43p from the subs paid.
The BMC have worked extremely hard on keeping increases to a minimum. There is a very good presentation on the British Mountaineering Council financial situation , if you would like more information:
