The long anticipated collapse of a large section of Castle Rock of Triermain north of Thirlmere in the Lake District finally occurred at about 2.0pm today. No particular connection with the Castle Club of Abbey Lane, but visited on quite a few club meets. They say it is still dangerously loose but they obviously want the best new routes for themselves, and in any case the “culm shale” vibe helps build moral fibre.
