Away meets needed
We need some more away meets in the next few months. We’d like campsites which will also take motorhomes. Local walking and climbing. Maybe biking and cultural stuff. A mix of areas. To suit as many members as possible.
Dates we are looking to fill are:
– July 11th – 13th – we’ve pencilled in N York Moors, but anywhere will do.
– August / September
– mid October 11th – 12th.If you’d like to propose a meet, please contact me directly so I can check it fits in the schedule and get it on the meet list. I’m coordinating away meets up to the AGM. Geoffnichols1955@gmail.com
Organising camping meets is easy. Pick somewhere you’d like to go. Check the campsite is available. Publicise it on the message board and meet list, saying what a lovely place it is. Tell people how to book. Set up a whatsapp group for the meet so people can car share and see who else is going.
If you want more help and advice on campsites we have used before and if you want to know more about organising a meet, get in touch. We’ve produced some guidance I can send you. We have previously used campsites in the Lakes, Wales, N York Moors, Dales, Mid-Wales. It would be especially good to have a wider range of club members organising meets.
We are also looking for ideas for a new year meet, which would need to be a hut. We’ve gone to Scotland for the last three years, but somewhere closer would be a change and maybe suit more people. Again, get in touch if you’ve an idea. The most popular huts can get booked up 9 months in advance, so needed planning well ahead.
