are all messages getting through????

Technical question about the message board, can anyone clarify? If someone replies to a message from their inbox and not through the website, does the message work? Have had a number of missed emails. Also when I tried this, I got a notice failure with lots of weird codes, so couldnt tell if it was for this or not. So, is the advice to reply through the messageboard and also tick the box below which says notify me of follow up emails?? Lots of the messages on the board only have a few replies if any.

Hi Linda,

This message board does not allow ‘reply by email’. If you tick the ‘notify me of follow up emails’ box you will see when someone has replied to your post, that is to say they have gone on to the message board and replied to your post.

Just to clarify, the message that appears in your inbox shows you that your post has been replied to, and allows you to read the reply, but you must visit this website to reply to a post.
