(One day I will figure out how to post a meet report in the proper place!)
Aldery Cliff was chosen as an alternative to Wild Cat until the closure and access problems have been sorted. (Current access involves climbing barbed wire fences or upsetting Willersley Castle Hotel!) Sorry for the change, my climbing meets seem to be fated this year.
On a day with an indeterminate forecast (Wunderground; fine but cloudy, BBC; drizzle, Met office; rain!) 5 hardy souls risked it, and had a fun time on a variety of route. Climbing as a party of two and one of three each party managed 7 routes, grades up to HVS 5a. As a finale all 5 did Sans Nom, a wonderful route for those interested in the natural flora of limestone crags! It is better now as some of the moss, grass, nettles, bramble etc have been kicked/scratched/scrubbed/rubbed off.
Just as we decided it was beer-o-clock it started to drizzle. We retired to the Quiet Woman, where the landlord was less than enthusiastic to see us. The rain started to fall steady, a near miss for those who thought about another route.
