Having assembled at Hope the party transferred to the start by Nether Booth Farm where we were joined by a late arrival-Dave Crowther.
Moving up to the Hostel we joined the path to the foot of Jagger’s Clough which disappeared into the mist.We followed the clough, crossing and recrossing the stream as necessary, with the occasional scrambly traverse and manoevre. At this stage the meet leader provided some amusement for the party by taking a tumble into the stream!Continuing the ascent we were confronted near the top by a large (and deep!) area of melting snow adjacent to wet greasy rocks with the stream flowing over them.Sean gave it all a wide birth, but the rest of us got up with a combination of delicate treading over snow and climbing up wet rocks with a liberal use of pulling on heather.
Once safely up we traversed round the rim of Kinder and descended below Ringing Roger as patches of sunlight began to poke through the shroud of cloud. We stopped for a half lunch here( leaving more for later). We then descended past “the Knabb” to Edale and joined the path through the field and the steep muddy climb up to Hollins Cross, where the remainder of lunch was taken.
Continuing along the ridge in brighter conditions with a number of para-scenders alongside,we climber Back Tor and continued on to Lose Hill. With the clag returning we then descended through the somewat muddy route back to Hope and a welcome mug of tea at the Woodbine cafe.
An enjoyable round in the best of the week-end’s weather.
    Mike
