10 members attended on a very pleasant walk in mostly fine weather despite the early morning rain.
The morning’s loop climbed straight up from the valley floor at Rowel Bridge to Storrs and HillTop with clear all round views.Coffee was taken making use of the tables on the pub car park at Dungworth (conveniently closed on Thursdays)before the descent to the valley and return to Rowel Bridge for the afternoon’s loop.
Continuing down the valley, lunch was taken on a convenient spot above the river. After lunch and crossing the river,a woodland trail followed the river below Wisewood Cemetry before the climb to the strangely named “High Matlock” area and the former “Robin Hood” pub.Continuing upwards and onwards we reached the top of Acorn Hill from where it was a steep and scenic descent back down to Rowel Bridge.
A very enjoyable walk in a different area, with the added bonus- for 5 of us-of a welcome tea chez the hospitable John B.
    Mike
