8 of us set out from above Hell Bank plantation in less than ideal weather, however it dried out as we walked down towards Beeley Hilltop and the village. Our tea break under the village green lime tree was marred by complaints of bird droppings on the carefully selected bench. Having climbed up past Burntwood Quarry and Fallinge Farm we lunched within view of Ravens Tor which lived up to it’s name with a flying display from 4 Ravens. We also saw a Peregrine and 2 Chinooks. A further climb through the wild raspberry canes was taken slowly to allow feasting.
This may have been the easy option for the day but the company was excellent and we enjoyed our walk.
