7 met in Calver on a rather grey morning. Andy and I were outnumbered by “girls” so had to behave. The steep climb to Bank Wood was soon accomplished and the ridge path led pleasantly through rhododendron bushes to emerge near an old ice house which provided a suitable coffee spot. The lane to Hassop lead past the old school house and through the village to the start of a bridleway near Home Farm. After crossing the road a path led up to a seat and picnic table where we had lunch. No sooner had we done than the rain started in earnest. We took the field path to Bubnell and then followed the riverbank back to Calver. About 7 miles.
