A contingent of 9 of us set off from Burbage North car park under heavy cloud. Our first leg took us south east along the top of
Burbage North before turning east over Burbage Moor to the Houndkirk Road. Lifting cloud allowed us good views towards Sheffield at coffee break. From the track we branched off north west to cross the Ringinglow Road eventually turning west after Brown Edge Farm. Unfortunately the route across the moor down to Redmires was very boggy so much so that Lin experienced a sinking up to her knees. From the corner of Redmires we ascended the old track to the new Stanage Pole where some of our number were disappointed at it being rather “wonky” We now turned south west across another boggy moor section to reach Stanage Edge and so back to the cars past the Trig point where Sean’s photographic skills where called upon for a group photo.
Luckily the weather held yet again for another dry Thursday walk. Thanks to all for your company on my inaugural walk.
