Meet by the church in the historic village of Ashford -in-the Water for a 10:00am start. The route goes via Monsal Dale and Head, passing reminders of the lead mining industry, a Romano-British settlement site and the Iron Age hill fort of Fin Cop which revealed some gruesome finds when excavated. Refreshments available at Monsal Head and in Ashford at the end, eight miles, please let me know if you are coming along.
