Park last layby car park on RHS on approach to Fairholmes, Derwent Reservoir at 9.00 am. (? Maybe pay & display so bring card & cash just in case).
An early start – I know – but it is likely to be busy. If layby full then there are 1 or 2 nearby or Fairholmes car park itself. Meet outside Fairholmes by the kiosks in case we’re not all in the same car park GR 179 893.
Walk ascends to Lockerbrook, Rowley Pasture, Alport Castles, crosses A57 and returns via river for final descent.
Optional scramble at Alport, multiple dipping opportunities and about 10 miles total. Car share if possible. I have space for 2.
