5 of us started the walk from Dale road above Low Bradfield in beautiful spring like weather.
Crossing below Dale Dike we continued along the wooded area by it’s edge. The skye was blue and the sun shone warmly.Passing the western end of the Dike,we climbed to the edge of the Strines Reservoir and stopped for the usual tea break on the stones alongside the buiding curiously named “Brogging”.
A short uphill then led to Mortimer Road which we crossed to gain access to the extensive Bole Edge Plantation. This, though, involved climbing a stile missing one of it’s steps which gave Chris K a challenging obstacle!
Once over the stile we continued on the access path through the woods and onto the moors beyond.Lunch was taken on an elevated grassy area in the full sun with views across to Agden Rocher ,High Bradfield and the Loxley valley far below.
We then left the moor to follow the track by the side of Bradfield moors to reach and recross Mortimer Road. All that was left, then, was a stroll down the grassy hill to rejoin Dale Road at the end of the walk.
Very much a case of a good time was had by all on a simply gorgeous spring like day.
