Nine members plus the statutory dog, met at the Glider Field,Stanage in the wind and mist which was not ordered. But the mist soon cleared to give a pleasant walk along the top of Stanage, although the wind did its best to overbalance everybody. The beverage break was taken in a convenient sheltered area and suitably refreshed the walk continued to Stanage End where lunch was taken in another sheltered spot.
The return leg was taken along the bottom path to main track back up to the Edge where Jennifer decided to part company and walk home via Stanage Pole and Redmires. The main group carried on until dropping down through the Plantation and up to Carr Head rocks. A rising contour path was taken back up to the Edge and to the cars. The walk was just over 8 miles and apart from the misty start gave the usual stunning views from the Edge.
Overall a pleasant day out. Thanks to all who took part.
