Rope Technique Courses – Peak Climbing Club

I’m forwarding the information below about rope technique courses planned by Peak Climbing Club. Places may be available to Castle Members. “Hi everyone,
The club will be running rope technique courses in 2024. The potential dates are Sunday 7th, Saturday 13th, Saturday 27th, & Sunday 28th April.
The 2 courses are:
Advanced Course – improvised rescue, escaping the system, hoists ,lowers, counterbalance, abseil ,lots of other tricks to get out of trouble etc.
Transition to Trad Climbing Course – placements, belays, rope management, stances, placing gear on lead (on top rope if appropriate and time allows) etc.
The courses are run over a single day, out at a suitable location in the Peak, at approx. £20pp. Priority will go to those who’ve not been on the courses before.
If anyone is interested please email me at andy1burgess@aol.com letting me know your preferences. I’ll then confirm which courses will be on which dates.
