As Storm Isha isn’t forecast to hit our area till later in the day I am going ahead with the Torside Clough Grade 1 scramble scheduled for tomorrow (though I might shorten the route if the storm arrives early.
In view of recent and predicted weather conditions I did a reccy today and the route is perfectly feasible. The clough is sheltered from the wind though care is needed as some sections are still icy. Full waterproofs recommended. Crampons and ice axes not needed but a trekking pole would come in handy.
Meet 9.30am at Torside Reservoir carpark on the B6105 (recently changed to pay by card ).
