Meet: 9am at the small carpark off the B6105 at the SW corner of Woodhead Reservoir (SK083994). Not very big so early arrival / carshare advisable.
Approach: Follow the higher track (above the Longdendale Trail) which leads towards a lodge in the trees. Before you get to the lodge head off diagonally right and follow Shining Clough brook until you can contour left to the flat terrace below the main cliff.
Description: One of the best moorland crags with high quality low and medium grade routes. Steepish but good protection and a good place to check how your jamming technique is progressing! Starred routes include Atherton Brothers (S), Via Principia (S), Phoenix Climb (VS), East Rib (HVS) and Pisa Super Direct (HVS).
