During Sunday’s walk a discussion was had about a communal Saturday night meal (non compulsory of course).
Do those attending feel they’d like this to happen, if so is anyone willing to coordinate?
Replies here please, menu ideas etc.
Cheers

So looks like I’ll be co-coordinating the communal meal for the Saturday evening. So…On the menu:
Starters: Chris and Jo have kindly offered to organise this.
Mains: Spaghetti bolognese both meat and veg options.
Desserts; Marianne is making cheesecakeAnything else?
Some nicely made garlic bread?
Salad?
Any other sidles, nibbles and desserts appreciated.Anyone NOT taking part in the communal meal, please post on here just so we no numbers. It’ll be 22 for full house from what I gather.

February 2, 2020 at 10:47 pm #15210Marianne LawsonParticipantI am not coming to Patterdale, so
Could someone else make a pudding.February 3, 2020 at 9:28 am #15211vanda boydParticipantHi Gemma
Thanks for doing this. We’ve had a couple of cancellations, still hoping to fill the hut but the current count is 20.
Cheers
PaulFebruary 3, 2020 at 9:36 am #15212Elen ReesParticipantHi Bill and I will bring some salad and maybe garlic bread if no-one else is eager to do so.
Thanks GemmaFebruary 3, 2020 at 2:39 pm #15213mike doyleParticipantAs Bill & Elen have volunteered to bring salad I will bring garlic bread.
MikeFebruary 13, 2020 at 8:25 am #15257Gemma ScougalKeymasterMyself and Kial have decided to abandon this weekend (we’ll pay for our places of course)- a tough decision as I felt obliged to come and do the main meal for Saturday evening, but I’m sure they’ll be plenty of volunteers. Enjoy yourselves!
I’ve attached my shopping list if you want the quick quantities and ingredients of everything.
GemFebruary 13, 2020 at 8:37 am #15258John HutchParticipantAnd I’m afraid I’ve baled too thanks to a bug. I was going to bring a cake. Will gladly pay what I owe.
Hope the rugged remainers have fun battling with Denis!February 13, 2020 at 12:09 pm #15259Russ ClareParticipantI’m taking this opportunity to opt out of the communal meal, and will not be bringing fresh fruit. I made Friday’s night’s dinner yesterday and ended up with double the quantity so I might as well eat half on Saturday.
February 13, 2020 at 4:00 pm #15260vanda boydParticipantGood afternoon everybody,
As we’ve had a few cancellations as you may have seen, just wondering what those still going think about abandoning the main course bit of the communal meal?Especially as not sure if anyone is now coordinating or shopping or what final numbers are.
We’ve still got garlic bread and a fruit pie to share and assuming Chris and Jo still doing starter.
Please let us know any thoughts.
Cheers
