14 members plus what seems now to be an obligatory dog fought for parking spaces in Youlgrave and met up close to the public loos for what promised to be a fine spring day. A short descent to the river Bradford, and then an ascent before crossing fields to Elton, stopping for elevenses (or should that be twelveses?) before the final rise up to Elton. Avoiding the road we went round the back of Elton, on what I thought was going to be the bog to end all bogs, but proved incredibly dry, before four of the group opted for the shorter 6 mile(ish) option. The rest followed the limestone way towards Winster, avoiding the village itself, before looping back to Youlgrave via Upper Town, Robin Hood’s Stride and Harthill Moor in the spring sun. Stripping out the meanderings of the GPS system during the stops – 8 miles. Thanks to someone (John H?? – it can’t have been me) for arranging the fine weather, and thanks to everyone for turning out.
