Just a quick reminder that we’re meeting outside Fox House (near the bus shelter) at 7pm tonight thur 16th July for a couple of hours of navigation practice. Thanks to all who replied and look forward to seeing you there – anyone else who can make it is very welcome. Don’t forget a dark peak map 1:25,000 and compass if you have them. From your replies it looks like we’ll focus on judging distance covered using pacing and timing, as well as other map and compass skills.
If you arrive a bit late we’ll be heading west cutting through the top end of Longshaw to GR 265802 (on the road go from Fox House towards Hathersage for about 200m then turn left signed Grindleford – footpath on right after 100m). Later we”ll head up the green drive ie broad path up the Burbage valley – and be the only people there clutching maps!
