Well dressings were the theme.
Starting in Eyam, we ambled to the Town Head well dressing – a celebration of the birth of John Ruskin 200 years ago. This was, unfortunately, cracking due to the heat (yes, this report is a little overdue…).
On to Foolow via the Barrel, where a break was taken looking out over the valley. After a quick glance at the well dressings the real business of tea and cake consumption got under way, with splendid service from the volunteers (one a club member) who had been forewarned; helping to raise £320 For the air ambulance. Refuelled, time was taken to appreciate the well dressings fully.
Then back to Eyam via the footpath parallel to the road to view the Town End well dressings.
A well attended walk: 22 people and a dog, clearly showing the correlation between attendance and cake.
