10 of us set out from the start near Stanage Edge in dull but dry conditions and without the mist which has bedeviled us over the past couple of days.
After Higger Tor we crossed the moor and descended through the Whim Plantation where we stopped by a convenient fallen tree for a coffee stop.Setting out again we descended to Hathersage where our numbers reduced to 9.
Passing through the village we passed Brookfield Manor and stopped for lunch by the old Pin Mill ( a first for most of the group) before traversing above Norton Lees and climbing to Stanage Plantation.
Making way for a herd of stampeding sheep we negotiated our way through the Plantation and onto Stanage with a steady stroll along the ege followed by an obligatory visit to the trig point before the track back to the cars.
No rai,no mist and reasonable views .A good day enjoyed by all!
