KeymasterStill only me going to Galloway on 11th Oct….. I’m quite happy to do so, but if anyone else would like to come along, there are another 5 spaces that the club has paid for. Walking, climbing, cycling, canoeing all available there.
I’ll be doing some walks from the new Cicerone guide https://www.cicerone.co.uk/walking-the-galloway-hills-1Also autumn migrant birds on the Solway, and some great tea shops!

KeymasterIs NO-ONE interested in the Galloway meet (Oct 11-13)? The club has paid £180 for hire of the bunkhouse. At present it looks as if I’ll be there on my own.

KeymasterGalloway is the next away meet, 3 nights at Balloch O’Dee 11th-13th October. A lovely spot on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park with cycling, walking, climbing and paddling to do. Also good bird-watching areas and plenty of local history (the bloody borders).
Sign up here, and pay £36 to the club please.David Crowther
KeymasterYes please Hugh

KeymasterThis is a bit cheeky, but if anyone could offer me a lift back from Huddersfield (with shiny new knee) on Saturday afternoon then I would be most grateful. Daughter Jenny can’t reorganise her shifts because of staff shortages. Don’t know what time they will want me gone, but it should be late afternoon I would think.
EDIT – now sorted, thanks Bill!David Crowther
KeymasterAli, Andrew, JB & myself lugged the bike up the steps to my house. I thought it felt heavy for 50kg, and a re-reading of the manual indicated about 76kg! Many thanks to the three of you! It is now installed and working.

KeymasterFor those going to Northumberland this weekend – Don’t forget to take sleeping bags, and pillows if you want them

KeymasterThere will be 12 of us, I think. I’m doing a veggie chili so if you want to do a meaty spag bol we could each do enough for 6 (assuming that there are enough pans and rings). Mary is doing a crumble – perhaps Mark and Adele could could do a dessert as well? (please liaise with Mary so we don’t have mounds left over). Kathy and John are doing a starter – again, perhaps Mike and Sean could chip in there – please liaise with Kathy and John.

KeymasterPhoto competition deadline approaching!!
I’ll be on Andy & Rosy’s walk this Thursday with a waterproof bag for your memory sticks, memory cards or CDs. Hope we’ll get lots of entries again.

KeymasterFor anyone taking a bike to Cragside, there is an off-road route here
http://www.mtbtrails.info/Trail_Venue_Map_TrailViewer.aspx?VenueNumber=71&TrailNumber=104&Unique=636877267998057641
and there are plenty of on road possibilities.
Thinking about a communal meal on Saturday, anyone interested and if so any dietary preferences?
