Andy SmithKeymasterLast Thursday I took part in a teleconference using Zoom
and it worked very well. There were 12 participants
(including one in Australia). 10 were on video, one audio
only and one on telephone. (It was a of the meeting of the
committee of the British Antarctic Survey Club). I think
it could work for a virtual clubroom. Andy. 23 Mar 2020

Andy SmithKeymasterI couldn’t resist chipping in. It was 25th January 1986. Here is the account from my log:
“25 Jan. Brilliant day. Best in the Lake District for some time. Bright, sunny, clear, no wind, warm for January. Fair bit of snow on the tops. Good crampon snow, icy in places. Wore crampons virtually all day. Not enough for skiing. With John Barnard, Frank & Jennifer, Andrew Hindmoor, Mark Robinson, Simon Cook. Striding Edge, at the end descending into Nethermost Cove. Up Nethermost Gully. Enjoyable but quite easy snow, a little soft. Two interesting ice pitches. Steepest at the top but no cornice. Up to Helvellyn summit (crowded). Lunch. Simon and Mark stayed to do another gully. Helvellyn Lower Man. Ridge walking to Whiteside. Excellent view: Galloway, Lake District Peaks, Cross Fell, Ingleborough. On to Raise, Stybarrow Dodd, Watson’s Dodd. Retraced to Stybarrow Dodd admiring views on the way. Greenside. John stayed to photograph the sunset. The rest of us to Hartside and back. Down to Nick Head, then down the path to the lead mine. Back to Glenridding in full moonlight. Both pubs shut!”
Have a nice weekend. Andy

Andy SmithKeymasterThe input data for the Mensa question are slightly wrong. Actually 3 peeled off from the ridge (JB, DC & GT) not 2. Andy
