For those coming on this Thursday’s walk ,19th Feb, starting from the National Trust Hay Wood car park (G.R.256776) be aware that in the last week the N.T. have removed the pay and display meter and announced that henceforth paying to park there will be digital only using the Just Park app.Members of the Trust will continue to be able to park for free-but using the app to record their membership no.
The new notice board states “If you have problems getting a signal payment or member scanning can be done at the machine located in the Longshawe cafe or Woodcroft Car Park”!!
When I was there on 17th I witnessed one person successfully using the app with no signal problems.
Don’t suppose anybody will want to call at Longshawe (en route to Hay Wood) to get a paper receipt or scan their NT membership card so I suggest installing the app..
A bit of a faff but this is the system I suspect the NT are going to increasingly introduce.
Other than this ,conditions and the forecast are reasonable.See you all on Thursday.
