Castle web site
The Castle web site is now encrypted.

For those not familiar with it:-
The meets list is on the first page. If a meet is in green if you click on it you will find other messages about it. Details of the Thursday walks are on a link from the main page.
A message board is accessed by logging in with your password and username. [check with the membership sec. if you’ve not got this]. Messages on the message board are automatically sent out as an email to all members. These include: advertising training courses, promoting meets, promoting social events, arranging planning meetings, meet reports, and a ‘chronicle’ after each committee meeting to keep members informed. As messages go to all members – make sure they are very polite and relevant to all.
Messages on the message board are visible to the public. So it’s not wise to include personal details such as bank accounts, emails or when you will be away from home.
The web site and whatsapp groups complement each other. The whatsapp groups are very useful for last minute changes of meets and coordinating away meets. In some cases a ‘belt and braces’ approach may use both. As with all apparently free services, they feed someone’s algorithms!

GeoffA comment on Geoff’s message. The emails which are sent out are technically Notifications that a message has been posted to the Message Board. The message can be read on the website by clicking the link after” Topic url:” The information following “Content of message” captures the text of the message but does not follow the original formatting (making it harder to read), and does not deal well with non-text information such as links. It is really intended help you decide whether you want to read the message in its original form. If you do, click the Topic url.
