Nine of us met at Upper Burbage Bridge car park. The weather initially looked grey and threatening but mainly the rain held off though we had to keep it away by putting waterproofs on and off.
The first half took in Higgar Tor, Carlwark and the river and bog crossing to get to the National Trust Cafe. A long queue ensured a good rest even before the tea, coffee and cakes.
We then ascended Houndkirk road with fabulous heathery surroundings before plunging across the peat (very wet at times) to the Trig point and Oxstones and back to Burbage and the car park.
Apologies as a bit longer than initial estimate at 7miles
