I am seeing if there is any interest in an Alpine Prep course – around ropework, crevasse rescue + other topics to be negotiated. The BMC has grants for professional instruction for novices in order that they will develop the skills to welcome new people to the outdoors. There is no guarantee of the grant being given and the course would have to be self funding. The grant will probably not cover the cost of the course. Let me know if you are interested although no commitment needed as yet. We can then look at potential dates and numbers.
