The club’s looking at running the following rope courses again:
Advanced Course (cost approx. £25pp) – suitable for anyone who is leading & has belayed/led multi-pitch.
Improvised rescue, escaping the system, hoists, lowers, counterbalance abseil, lots of other tricks to get out of trouble, etc.
Transition to Trad Climbing Course (cost approx. £25pp) – suitable for people looking to start leading trad.
Placements, belays, rope management, stances, placing gear on lead (on top rope if appropriate and time allows), etc.
Trad Leading Course – includes supervised leading & belaying – for 2 or 4 people (so cost £100/£50pp)Castle members are invited. Sessions will be a full day, venue TBC but likely in Peak. Dates 21st Feb, 29th March, 11th April, & 12th April. Which course is on which date will depend on people’s responses.
If anyone is interested please email Andy on andy1burgess@aol.com, letting him know WHICH course you’re interested in & WHAT dates you can/can’t do. He’ll then confirm courses/dates.
