What a great report! A pleasure to read and well done for making something out of what sounds like a day that could have been rubbish!

Lin, we’re moving to our rental house next weekend and so will start to join in meets now regularly. We aren’t members of any of the whatsapp groups at all. How do we join?

‘m coming down to Matlock to visit family anyway so will go to Wildcat after lunch (1ish}. Please text if no-one’s going to be there!). I’m afraid I’m not on the WhatsApp group.

I found this review/thread about scanning services; https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3354397

One mentioned is Peak Imaging, who are in Sheffield. I’ve used them for printing for years – they’re very good and serve the professional market.

    John

I’ve scanned thousands of slides and negatives using my own scanner (plustek) over the last 10 years. Most things can be scanned although very contrasty slides are difficult.

I’ve also used commercial services but with the number I wanted to scan the cost would have been prohibitive. The person I used has since retired I’m afraid so couldn’t make a recommendation. However, look for one who uses a drum scanner; they are by far the best.

How many films have you got to scan?

John, although I missed your last post, I would like to be included in later tests. Thanks

Castle and I would definitely be up for this; we haven’t been to the clubroom for decades! Microsoft Teams is another possibility and they have just made it free too. I use it for work every day; it works very well.

Also very good at screen sharing so slide shows would work well.

After a lot of umming and aahing, I’ve decided to bail too. Sorry.

Whilst i’m not ill (for a change!), I’m worried about transport home. The MetOffice amber warning (ie nearly guaranteed flooding) has just been extended to the whole of the Yorkshire Dales, including Otley. Unfortunately, I still work and am going to a client on Monday so have to be able to get back. Also, we have a bit of a roof leak at home which hasn’t been fixed yet and is likely to leak again this weekend.

I’m ready to pay my £24 hut fee into the CMC bank account once it’s been confirmed that that is the right place!

I’d love to join in too. Do you need me to bring anything? Parmesan perhaps?!
