Need numbers for the pub for August 8th after the New Mills Parish Boundary Walk, 18 miles, see previous posts with full details
Aim to be at the pub by 6pm to 6.30pm. Can you let me know if you want to book in for a meal, whether or not you are doing the walk.
I am ringing in numbers, not food choices, on Monday. Cheers LindaHave checked out the pub, Pride of the Peak, and it’s booked. Train from Sheffield arrives in New Mills Central at 8.03am. Car parking at Torr Top car park, £2.40 for all day. As you come into New Mills come to a small roundabout, with big bus area on left, and heritage centre. Train station is first left, about 200m.
For the parking, at the roundabout, go second left, which is slightly right . The pub, Pride of the Peak is here. Turn immediately right down Rock street and follow this down and right ,only 100m, to parking. We will meet there at 8.30am.
Pub postcode is SK22 4AA. Hoping to be at pub for 6pm ish…. Cheers LindaHaving looked at the weather for Sat, looks similar for all of the Peak, 25% chance of a light shower from 3pm , will go with Windgather, meeting at about 10.30am. Please check for messages before you go, as forecast seems quite fluid at present. Will notify anyone who has said they are coming if there is a change from this. Car sharing? I will have transport.

Will leave parking area around 10.30am and initially aim for the playground area as it is more sheltered and gets some sun. About 10 people so far I have said they plan to come.

Can you put a message out referring to original post which says they’re already reserving a number of pitches and people don’t need to book individually. Unless we get a huge turnout of course!! We’re back Sunday night.

So far, Dave Crowther, Kathy and I are meeting at Baslow at 10am for a walk of about 8 miles. Up to Baslow edge, along edges to froggatt, down to the valley, across to calver knoll, up towards curbar gap and along lower than the edge and back. Meet by the green triangle of grass in the village, by the car park and toilets and sweet shop. Can usually park for free on the side roads opposite it.
