Hi Chris – it’s just off the A623 up from Stoney Middleton. I’ll message you with further details tomorrow
They tend to vary , but typically some people arrive at 4ish and some stay till around 8pm. If you can come this Tuesday I will let you know nearer the time
Following on from Steve’s info (Thanks Steve) the climbing meet on Tuesday will be moved to Bamford Edge, Neb Buttress (as we missed the Bamford meet earlier in the year due to access restrictions )
As usual, please text me (on 07415 709241) if you intend to come, giving an approximate time)
12 of us enjoyed a sunny evening on Birchen’s isolated Kismet buttress. Some great leads of Horatio’s Horror and Nelson’s Nemesis in rather warm conditions.
Great to see you all, and farewell to Kari and Mina who will be returning to Bergen at the weekend. We’ve not known you long but will not forget your enthusiasm and rapid progress.
A few of us are meeting at Castle Naze at the crag at 10:30 ish. Love to see anyone else who wants to join us
We have just found that the access to Bamford Edge is closed this week. So today’s climbing is now at Stanage Plantation. We will be there from 4 – contact us on 07415 709241 if you can’t find us..
John and I will be going – aiming to be at car park at 3:30.
Rosa will be there at 4:30
John and I will be there from about 2:30pm but have to leave about 6. Hope to see anyone who can get there early
The weather forecast for Sunday is now looking a lot better , should be great for climbing so hope to see you there!March 17, 2018 at 12:53 pm in reply to: Volunteer wanted for Roaches meet on Sunday 8th April #11627
Hi Paul – We’re happy to take over this meet if you still need volunteers
Kathy & John
After Rob’s walk all are welcome back to ours (Ashleigh, Crossland Rd) for tea and biscuits
We’d be happy to lead a walk on the 26th , if you still need someone. We’ll probably keep to the Low Bradfield area
Kathy & John
Another reply regarding evening meets:
1. I don’t think the choice is too predictable – in fact the opposite as we have chosen not to attend meets some meets at unusual crags (Higgar Tor , too difficult and Chatsworth Edge , too green)
3. As a new member I did not know who might be likely to attend so could not really contact individuals in advance (I know I could have used the website though)
4. I think this would help – a designated coordinator might be useful. It may be useful to know which area of the crag people were meeting
5. This sounds like a good idea
6 I’m happy with Tuesday and Wednesday meets. However if a day or two before, the weather forecast is bad, it would be good to have a second choice of evening that week
John and I are planning to climb at Crow Chin, Stanage tomorrow (Monday) aiming to be at the crag for 10am. Company would be lovely!
