10 of us set off in bright sunshine from Winster car park at 11, By 12 we had got to Nine Ladies stone circle on Stanton Moor while 1 was out on a bike ride., It was getting near 2 when we restarted after lunch by the stream between Alport and Bradford,
After heading via the Limestone Way to Robin Hood’s Stride, 3 of the party declined the diversion to the hermit’s cave at Cratcliffe and it was 4 when we arrived back at Winster. According to Andy’s GPS, 5 miles had been achieved by lunch, where most of our 6 ladies sampled Chris’ beetroot bhaji There were 7 of our cars in the park at return, though 8 had been left at the start of the walk so Lin had to wait rather more than 9 minutes for Dick to drive back. Unfortunately the meet leader’s piece of measuring string was elastic and our 10 miles took 2 long. He will try to get the numbers right for his next walk, meanwhile thanks to all for a very enjoyable day.
