Meet at the car park at Birchen Clough on the A57 approx 1 mile above the Snake Inn-G.R. 109914-at 0900.
Sorry about the early start,but given the popularity of this parking area I daren’t leave it any later.
The route will ascend Ashop Clough to Ashop Head and the junction with the Penine Way.The northern edge of Kinder is then followed past The Edge and Fairbrook Naize to Seal Stones, where there is a steep descent to Gateside Clough and the track down to the bottom of Fair Brook.After the river crossing the route then returns to the start passing the Snake Inn and the Snake Plantation.
10.5 miles by map and thread,but taking into account the inevitable weaving about along the edge of Kinder, 12 miles is probably a more realistic estimate!
There are places for 12,allowing for 2 parties to do the route in opposite directions or with a staggered start.
