Hello Tunnellers.
We will be meeting at Marsden Train Station car park at 09.20 on Sunday 6th October. There is plenty of parking but car sharing is recommended. For those with sat navs the post code is HD7 6DH. The station is well sign posted but the entrance is not obvious; you will see the station sign as you go up a hill and where the road turns a sharp left you go straight on up a cobbled drive at the top of which you turn right into a parking area. There are signs for the tunnel visitors centre, ignore them, there is restricted parking there. NB please allow plenty of time to get there as a prompt start is essential. It is at least an hours drive from Sheffield.
It will depend on the weather conditions on the day but I would imagine that the tunnel could be quite cold so bring warm gear. for the team doing the walk first it might be an idea to have some spare dry clothes and foot ware; you don’t want to be sat on a boat for 2 hours in wet clothes. There is a nice cafe were you can get changed.
