Langdale meet – 31 July – 3 August last update

booked on are:
Three nights – Karen Stanley, Tom Andrews, Kathy Burgess, Gordon Riley, Ali and Andrew.
Two nights – Simon and Lorna, Julian, Andy Ward, Mary Reap and Marian Birket. Kial, Gemma. Leon, Rosie. Full house as capacity is 16.

If you have not already paid the club do so now. The fee is £9 a night for Fell and Rock members; £14 a night if you are in a kindred club – such as the Climbers Club; £18 a night for anybody else. [Castle is not ‘kindred’].

Let me know if I have miscalculated anything. If anybody drops out please post it on the whatsapp and ask if anybody wants to take your place. I’ll not be fielding emails from 22nd July.

Parking is limited so car share if possible. We may be able to negotiate use of the Wayfarer’s hut car park – which is opposite the road.
Cooking facilities are also limited – so organise cooking groups. Use the whatsapp group to coordinate this.
The three Fell and Rock members have keys to open the building.
Pete Wimbush is also staying in the Barn – so will have a key.

Please organise a meet report between you.

A reminder – It is 2km west of Chapel Stile on the B5343, on the north side of the road, opposite the Wayfarers club hut on the south side.

Climbing recommendations:
Scout Crag, very close, route 1 – one of the best vdiff pitches in the valley;
Gimmer – brilliant routes, Ash tree slabs, the alphabet routs, Oliverson’s crawl, Gimmer Crack, Asterix etc… double rope to ab off.
Bowfell Butress – the classic – get their early.
Raven Crag – original route – check recent rock fall.
Etc…..
